HER STORY
Alyssa could barely remember the last time she had a taste of freshwater. She hissed at the burning sensation that flooded her nerves as her fresh wounds came in contact with the salty seawater.
Pain, along with an overwhelming sense of relief washes over her. She was finally free.
Free from those vicious poachers - they ruthlessly held her captive for the past 5 years. She could remember the day they stormed her kingdom vividly as if it was just yesterday. They used their science and technology against her, polluting the ocean with chemicals that sedated the merpeople. She could only imagine the sheer number of merpeople that suffered this cruelty. Death would have been kinder.
They tortured her; using her powers to their advantage as they starved and abused her. Her porcelain white skin is now bruised and tattered, cuts and scars decorate her sleeve.
She had almost given up hope of escaping, just almost. But karma was indeed a bitch, and her tormentors got the justice they deserved.
She contemplated going home to the Artic, but evidence has led her to believe that her home was torn apart years ago. Merpeople scattered and ran for their lives, living in hiding from the barbarousness of mankind.
Her saviour had pointed her in the direction of safety, a realm where all creatures lived in - a sanctuary, called Noctis Regnum.
